About Footsteps

Footsteps Community Services is a family-owned, for-purpose organisation providing disability support and mental health services. We are passionate about enabling and empowering you to maximise your quality of life and work alongside you to explore the meaning in what is going on for you & to support you in achieving your goals.

We provide in-person disability support and mental health services in Brisbane, Logan, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Ipswich and surrounding areas, and via telehealth services Australia-wide.

Disability & mental health services uniquely designed to support you

We provide a wide variety of mental health and disability support services to individuals, families and organisations in South East QLD and the wider Australian community. We work with clients of all ages, cultures and backgrounds and have a great passion and interest in working with all members of our community.

Therapy, support coordination, positive behaviour support, short term accommodation and respite, community nursing, employee assistance programs (EAP) and professional supervision are just some of the support services we provide.

Footsteps was founded with a desire to uphold the social responsibility of caring for one another, particularly those who have been marginalised and made vulnerable.

How can we support you?

Disability & Mental Health Services for Individuals & Families

We support individuals and families with a wide range of diagnosed conditions including anxiety, depression, Autism spectrum disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), acquired brain injury and Spina Bifida, as well as those who are dealing with and have been impacted by trauma, grief, and loss.

Supporting Employee Wellbeing & Development

We collaborate with employees in diverse sectors, providing support and assisting those affected by trauma, grief and loss. Our Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) are designed to support well-being and retention across all sectors, and our professional supervision and consultancy services are uniquely tailored to support the broader healthcare community.

What makes us different

We find that the terms ‘disability’ and ‘mental health’ are often defined from a negative perspective, and we seek to challenge this in everything that we do. We look beyond diagnosed conditions and focus on abilities and strengths.

Unlike many other organisations, the majority of our therapeutic and support work is not conducted within the therapy room. We tailor our services to our clients’ needs and desires, adopting holistic, evidence-based approaches with the aim of empowering and supporting our clients to maximise their quality of life and achieve their goals.
